International flights could fall ten per cent

The price of international flights could fall by as much as ten per cent in the coming year, says an expert.
According to the chief economist of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), Brian Pearce, economy class prices are already down by an average of 34 per cent on last year.
"Liberalisation of the route has led to many new carriers coming into Heathrow and that has pushed the price down," Mr Pearce explained.
He advised people to "shop around" as there are likely to be some great deals to be had "particularly on transatlantic routes".
Mr Pearce told the IATA's annual conference in Kuala Lumpur: "I think fares will fall by at least ten per cent over the coming year."
Cheaper prices will be good news for would-be expatriates who are considering moving to more exotic climes and facing costly air fares.
That said, healthcare provision in some of the more far-flung expatriate destinations may fail to live up to UK standards.
The NHS recommends travellers apply for a European Health Insurance Card, although this does not provide the cover that international health insurance does.
