International Healthcare News: Finland 'best place to live'

A new poll has revealed that Finland is the best place to live, something the country's expatriate population might already know.
Good healthcare, education, a thriving economy, political stability and excellent quality of life saw Finland topping the poll of the best 100 countries to live in, the survey by Newsweek found.
Visit Finland spokesperson Riitta Balza commented: "Finland is a magical place, full of clean air, innovative people, nature at its most inspiring and a population who know how to enjoy life and relax. This is all a winning combination."
However, while the country scored 100 per cent for its literacy rate and education, expatriate health insurance policyholders might not be pleased to hear that Finland's healthcare was ranked 17th out of 100, based on a World Health Organisation comparison which looked at how long the average citizen could expect to live without disability or chronic illness.
Prospective expat medical insurance customers looking to relocate to the far north of Finland should know that the sun does not set for about ten weeks during the White Nights of summer and it is perpetual night-time in winter when the sun does not rise above the horizon for almost eight weeks.
