International Healthcare News: Expatriates 'can use online network to celebrate New Zealand talents'

08/04/10 15:57

An enterprising expatriate has set up a website for fellow expats living in Australia to keep up to date with the latest business happenings.

New Zealand expatriate Sir Stephen Tindall, chair of the Kiwi Expat Association, said the website had been launched to encourage other overseas visitors to support New Zealand ahead of the Rugby World Cup next year.

The website will harness networkers by showcasing promotional videos from kiwi businesses, bands, designers, film-makers and artists. Expats can share videos with their own friends and families living abroad and will have the chance to win monthly prizes.

Almost one million New Zealanders live overseas and Sir Steven hopes to use this large fan club to pass on business contacts and tips about New Zealand enterprise.

"The 2011 tournament is looming large on New Zealand's horizon. Given how rare it is for this country to host a truly global event, it is the perfect opportunity for Kiwis abroad to re-connect with their homeland and tell everyone what is going on," Sir Steven told Voxy.

"From our fashion designers to musicians, yacht designers, and superb pinot noir, we have talent and products which our international supporters club can spread the word about - before, during and after Rugby World Cup 2011," he added.
