International Healthcare News: Expat kidnap attempt 'unsubstantiated'

Police in Singapore have spoken out to reassure the expatriate community that rumours of attempted kidnaps are unfounded.
It comes after an incident in Turf City in which the child of a British expat was approached by a woman who tried to coax him away from his maid at a taxi rank in the area.
The child's mother made a police report about the incident, but a spokesman for the force said that the case is now thought to be one of "mistaken identity".
"Police confirm that investigations thus far have shown the recent allegation of a female subject attempting to abduct children at Turf City to be unsubstantiated," he said.
The police now hope that their reassurance will go some way to damping down fears about expatriate children being kidnapped.
After the Turf City episode, the child's mother sent an email to other expatriate parents claiming another similar incident had happened near accommodation in the Mount Sinai area.
The six-year-old boy's school, Tanglin Trust School, sent out a warning to parents over the event.
