International Healthcare News: Advice to expats in Bangkok

All Indian expatriates living in Thailand are safe from the protests which are currently gripping the streets of the country's capital, Bangkok.
The city has a large Indian expatriate population, the Times of India reported, and sources have told the newspaper that all expats from India are safe.
Susha Stephen Varugis has lived in Bangkok for several years and told the paper that the situation there was very unsettling. Another expatriate, named Ramesh, has lived there for more than 20 years and said: "Had the monsoons come, most of these demonstrators would have rushed back to their villages."
Violence has gripped the streets of Bangkok as protests between anti-government Red Shirts and soldiers escalate.
A curfew has now been placed on the city in a bid to restore order.
British expatriates have been warned by their Foreign and Commonwealth Office that travel to Bangkok is not advised, because "the situation is highly unpredictable and further acts of violence are likely".
Expats who live in the city have been advised to stay indoors and monitor travel advice and local media reports.
