International Health Insurance News: expats cook up a storm in Hong Kong
19/02/10 17:12
Expatriates in Hong Kong could try a taste of Chinese cuisine with a Japanese twist, courtesy of one of the island's first Japanese cooks, Keiki Sukuri.
Keiki runs a cooking school for Japanese expatriates and visitors and teaches them how to create delicious food from different cultures.
She has written three recipe books published in Hong Kong and was a judge for three consecutive years at the Best of the Best Culinary Awards which was sponsored by the Hong Kong Tourism Board.
Her students learn how to cook Cantonese, Shanghai and Sichian food, as well as cuisine from Japan, Italy and France.
For expatriates concerned about potential growing waistlines, Keiki is a certified nutritionist and uses the fresh ingredients prevalent in Japanese food at her school in the Wan Chai district, Luscious Delicious.
Those wishing to move to Hong Kong could research expatriate healthcare, as medical systems vary. Hong Kong medical costs can be high, so expats should ensure they find the right insurance company for their needs.
