International Health Insurance News: Saudi ministry warns against expat exploitation

Saudi Arabian healthcare institutes have been told not to use government-employed expatriate workers to carry out private jobs.
Expatriate medical insurance policyholders should not be exploited by being used to do private jobs outside the Ministry of Health's offices and premises during official working hours, the government department has warned.
Anyone who violates this warning could face questioning and disciplining, the Saudi Gazette reported.
The health department's recent administration audit revealed that expatriates are sometimes used to carry out such chores and Abdullah Bin Ali al-Nassar, assistant director general of health for financial and administrative affairs in Qassim, has issued a directive to relevant work places warning them against the practice, the newspaper said.
Back in January, the same news source reported that some 15,000 expatriate health workers were barred from practising after it emerged that some were incompetent and 1,093 had found employment by using forged qualifications.
