International Health Insurance News: Brazil 'is very family friendly'
31/08/10 17:54
Expatriates who are looking to relocate because of their job or family should consider Brazil because of its famous family friendliness, the country's tourism board has said.
Glauco Chris Fuzinatto, UK and Ireland director at the Brazilian Tourist Office, commented: "Brazilian people are welcoming and are very family orientated and very keen on children."
He explained that the South American country is very warm and welcoming to expatriates, especially those with children and families.
Mr Fuzinatto suggested prospective expats try out the north-east of the country as this is where most of the resorts are located and there is plenty of entertainment for the family.
Sporty expatriate health insurance policyholders will also feel a connection with the Brazilian population because they are "fanatical about sport".
He noted that some expats might feel apprehensive about taking their children to some parts of the country, in particular the jungle, but pointed out "it doesn't mean that families could go there, it's just not the place you would take a very young child to, to [have] adventure[s]".
