Two Australian sports stars gave expatriate children in Vietnam some football lessons they may not be forgetting any time soon
Nathan Buckley from Collingwood football club in Melbourne and Gary O'Donnell from Essendon club received a warm welcome from the Vietnam Swans, an Australian-rules football club based in Saigon.
The team's president Phil Jones said the Swans were very proud to have the two National Football League (NFL) players join them for a football clinic.
"For our guys, it's a chance to see these guys up close and to get to talk to them; to get an insight into how elite athletes think and what makes them different to the rest of us,” he told Thanh Nien Daily.
Half the young participants were children of Australian expatriates and the others were from a non-profit organisation called Koto, which trains young people in hospitality.
The children were taken through football drills and were taught how to kick and pass the ball before being coached by the two Aussie sports stars in full games.
Healthcare in Vietnam is not generally considered world-leading so people moving to the country could consider taking out expatriate healthcare to help cut down unexpected medical costs.
