Greek islands enjoy Mamma Mia attraction

The Greek islands are proving increasingly popular since the huge success of the movie Mamma Mia, says PropertyIndex.com.

The property portal claims Brits are especially interested in Skopelos where the Hollywood hit was filmed.

"British buyers are clearly captivated by Mamma Mia's idyllic portrayal of life in the Greek islands and are intent on finding their own island hideaway," said Lee Bramzell, the company's chief executive.

Property investors and holidaymakers have been drawn by the region's stunning scenery - Mr Bramzell also noted that "the cost of living is low and property prices are affordable".

Some expatriates may have chosen Greece for its climate and relaxed pace of life, while others could be working in the country's busier towns and cities.
