French schools set swine flu closure rules

The children of British expatriates attending schools in France could find themselves sent home under new swine flu guidelines.
As part of the country's precautions against the spread of swine flu, schools will close should three or more children in a class fall ill.
It has been reported that the French education minister, Luc Chatel, told Le Journal du Dimanche of the precautions the government has in place.
Lessons could be broadcast on the televison, allowing pupils to continue learning while schools are shut.
School officials would also have the power to close only single classes as a precaution should they need to.
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office has consulates in Paris, Bordeaux, Lille, Lyon and Marseille, which can offer assistance to the expatriate community when appropriate.
