France is a 'popular' expatriate destination
10/02/09 18:32
Many people move abroad and become an expatriate in France because of the lifestyle, according to my-french-house.com.
Patrick Joseph, founder and director of the business, said that France is attractive to a British expatriate because it is just across the Channel, which means they do not have to travel far and can visit family on a regular basis.
"With more and more people concerned about their carbon imprint and travelling and so on and so forth, it just makes a lot more sense," he said.
Mr Joseph went on to say that the standard of living in France meant that more people were willing to move there compared to other popular expatriate destinations in Europe and further abroad.
"France is a very special place. It's not like Spain or Bulgaria or America. It's the lifestyle, it's the whole package with France," he added.
Gary Field, of RationalFX, recently said that Brittany and Normandy were popular with the British expatriate community.
