Fox named most influential Canadian expat

Michael J Fox has been named as the world's most influential Canadian expatriate in a new poll.
Conducted by The Canadian Expat Association, the survey was open to its members and the general public, with voting closing on October 31st.
The actor emerged as the clear favourite with 28.9 per cent of the votes, followed by professional ice hockey player Wayne Gretzky in second place with 11.4 per cent.
Broadcast journalist Tony Burman, singer-songwriter Neil Young and philanthropist Peter Allard made up the rest of the top five.
Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Fox first found fame in the seven-season hit show Family Ties before taking on a string of film roles.
Diagnosed with Parkinson's in 1991, the star has since raised more than $154 million (£91.8 million) towards finding a cure for the disease.
The Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research is to hold a virtual roundtable discussion later this month aimed at both clinicians and sufferers.
Ahead of the November 21st event, interested members of the public are invited to submit their questions for the expert panel through the foundation's website.
