Former governor 'wants top EU job'

Lord Patten, who previously governed Hong Kong and its large British expatriate community, is keen on a new post at the European Union (EU), should it be offered.
If the Lisbon treaty is ratified he said he would "be very positive" about a role as the EU's first foreign minister, he told the Financial Times.
Pattern handed over sovereignty of Hong Kong to the Chinese government in 1997, which ended years of colonial rule.
In his new post, should he be appointed, he would adopt the role of high representative for foreign affairs and security policy.
In his interview with the paper Lord Patten says: "I'm not campaigning for the job."
"But if I was approached, which I think is unlikely, I would certainly be very positive about it."
