Expats warned: Eta attacks could cause disruption

British expatriates and travellers to Spain have been warned that the current campaign by Eta could cause them disruption and put them in harm's way.
Spanish authorities are "fully aware" of the situation, says the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), which advises British expatriates and tourists to remain vigilant.
"Disruptions from real or hoax terror attempts can be expected and a high level of alert is being maintained," notes the FCO.
With the global recession, fewer Brits have been venturing abroad for holidays, although Spain and its islands remain a favourite expatriate destination.
The Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors has recently reviewed house prices across Europe and found many investors move to Spain to retire.
The organisation revealed that immigrants are predominantly "older people from north-west Europe particularly the UK- who wish to settle in Spain but do not participate in the labour market".
