Expats in Turkey help tourist trade

British expatriates living in turkey have boosted the country's tourist trade, according to one travel company.
Artemis Travel says because expatriates are inviting their friends and relatives to visit they are helping Turkey's tourist trade and advertising the country more widely.
Nigel Harris, chief executive of Artemis noted: "There are an awful lot of people who have bought accommodation and actually live in Turkey who have family and friends going out there."
Mr Harris went on to explain that a relatively favourable exchange rate and additional flights have also helped.
Of those people who prefer to holiday than move abroad permanently, one group is choosing a new type of break.
According to the Centre of Future Studies, the baby-boom generation is increasingly looking for holidays during which they can learn a skill.
"Both men and women are putting a high emphasis on 'me time' and are looking to blend hobbies with their holidaymaking," explained the centre's foresight director, Dr Frank Shaw.
