Expats in Hong Kong 'enjoy Chinese jobs'
06/07/09 12:19
British expatriates who chose to remain in Hong Kong have made the most of its job opportunities, Brits have said.
Speaking to the Telegraph, former civil servant Mark Knight recently stated his belief that UK emigrants could benefit from a move to the region.
Mr Knight told the paper he thinks that the former colony is a good place to "re-invent yourself" and noted that "switching careers in the UK would be much more difficult".
Hong Kong Island and Kowloon are also home to many expatriates who choose to teach English as their profession.
These jobs are so popular, the paper suggests, there could be more English teachers than bankers resident in Hong Kong.
The Hong Kong Hospital Authority manages healthcare in the region's public hospitals, although would-be expatriates could consider international health insurance cover before they fly.
