Expats in Greece helped by shared language

British expatriates living in Greece benefit thanks to the local population's mastery of English, notes foreign exchange broker World First.
Explaining why tourists often look to Greece because it is relatively inexpensive when compared to other European destinations, Theo Papathanasiou, Greek desk manager at World First, noted the benefit for expatriates.
Mr Papathanasiou claimed that recent trends prove the country is "a more efficient place for professional conduct and business".
"The fact that over 95 per cent of the population can communicate in English - unlike Italy for example - also helps expat communities," he commented.
Factors for would-be expatriates to consider before they move abroad are the exchange rate, the cost of international health insurance and the cost of living.
According to the European Central Bank the pound has fallen in value against the Euro, since it peaked on October 20th 2008.
Brits currently only receive 1.16 euros for each pound they exchange, when previously the rate was 1.29.
