British expatriates living in Kuwait can now indulge in retail therapy with a British twist as Miss Selfridge has opened a store in the emirate.

The well-known British brand has gone into partnership with MH Alshaya and has opened with a new range inspired by 1980s music and film favourites.

"Whether you are looking for a glam, statement outfit or casual on-trend daywear, Miss Selfridge has everything you need to update your wardrobe with those staple hits of the season," says Pat Kelly, business director of Miss Selfridge at MH Alshaya.

Spring and summer outfits draw on the styles found in Desperately Seeking Susan and those worn by pop acts Debbie Harry and Bananarama.

Miss Selfridge has its base in London and in addition to the new store in Kuwait it will also open a number of boutiques across the region.

British retail stalwart Marks & Spencer also runs 280 stores in 40 territories, offering British expatriates fashions and foods they may rarely find away from home.
