Expatriate opportunities in Iceland

People who want to move abroad may want to consider being an expatriate in Iceland because the country has a lot to offer, according to Lonely Planet.
Tom Hall, travel editor of Lonely Planet, said that although the capital Reykjavik is popular with the expatriate community in Iceland, the country has many beautiful locations that are attractive to those looking to relocate.
"Beyond the capital Iceland is best known for the steaming waters of the Blue Lagoon and the Gullfoss waterfall," he said.
Mr Hall went on to say that owning a motor vehicle is important if you want to enjoy the outdoor sporting activities which are available in Iceland.
"Iceland offers whale watching, winter sports and, if you have your own wheels, towering waterfalls and hot springs that you can have pretty much to yourself," he added.
According to Statistics Iceland, the number of foreign tourists visiting Iceland in 2007 was 485,000 compared with 303,000 in 2000.
