Expatriate insurance 'a good idea' for Dubai

Many Brits head to Dubai in search of an expatriate lifestyle in the blissful sunshine and tax-free haven.
However, many are now being warned that those seeking a new life in the Middle-Eastern country should be aware that its legal system is based on Sharia law, which can sometimes see western expatriates find themselves in difficult situations.
Its hard-line stance on drugs, alcohol and sex can lead to deportation, heavy fines, or worse, a prison sentence.
A report on the BBC said: "Being drunk in public, swearing or making rude gestures – especially whilst driving - and public shows of affection - such as kissing, are all offences.
While a blind eye is often turned, it is important to bare in mind that although 80 per cent of the population of Dubai is expatriate, it is still possible to get into trouble.
Those thinking of travelling to Dubai should make sure they have medical insurance or private health care to cover them in case of emergencies.
