Expatriate Insurance News: Travelling 'not just for students'

Travelling around the world is no longer the preserve of gap-year students, according to a specialist travel company.

Brett Warbrick, group marketing and product director at Round the World Experts, maintained that young professionals and couples with grown up children are increasingly upping sticks and travelling to far-flung destinations all over the globe.

"For some people, backpacking is all about escaping normal life and getting back to basics, but for those who want the backpacking experience without losing their creature comforts there are lots of options," he added.

There is plenty of accommodation choice for those wanting upmarket yet affordable places to stay while they are travelling, Mr Warbrick pointed out, so prospective expatriates will not have to stay in dingy hostels while they are finding their feet.

His comments come in light of research by swiftcover.com, which revealed that 14 per cent of British respondents would choose a trip taking in the sites of Peru's Machu Picchu as their holiday of a lifetime. The same percentage would opt for a dream holiday in an exotic location such as India or China.
