Expatriate Insurance News: Travellers 'push for better deals on holiday'
09/07/10 19:21
Recent financial pressures at home have led expatriates and other travellers to push for better deals on their holidays, according to TripAdvisor.
Spokesperson for the company Emma O'Boyle noted that taking a holiday is an important part of maintaining a balance between work and leisure, but saving money is also more necessary than ever.
"Consumers are undoubtedly becoming more savvy, realising that if they shop around there are real savings to be found," she noted.
Her comments follow a survey by holiday deals company Travelzoo, which highlighted how three-quarters (74 per cent) of British holidaymakers would be more likely to haggle for a better deal now than two years ago.
The research also found 64 per cent of British travellers would continue to push for value for money once they were on holiday.
For those taking an extended trip or looking to relocate abroad, expatriate health insurance could be a good idea in order to have protection in case medical treatment is needed.
