Expatriate Insurance News: 'Sort out accommodation before visiting Goa'

Prospective expatriates considering a move to Goa should ensure their accommodation is sorted out before they arrive, according to India's promotional body Incredible India.

Likewise, those planning on taking a short break or holiday to experience Goa's sandy beaches and Indian cuisine "must make all arrangements before going to Goa, as sometimes it is very hard to get accommodation," assistant director Raj Kumar Sunai explained.

The city, located in southern India, received 2.5 million visitors last year, up from 2.37 million in 2008, according to figures released by The Travel and Tourism Association of Goa and published in the Times of India.

Would-be expatriates are attracted to the region because of its scenery, culture and shopping potential, Mr Sunai noted.

Its popularity is increasing because birthing restrictions for cruise ship are being relaxed, while state of the art facilities are being developed in the area, he said.

However, Mr Sunai recommended that people considering a trip to Goa should shop around online for the best deals.
