Expatriate Insurance News: Breakfast 'has many benefits'

03/02/12 13:55

Expatriate health insurance policyholders may realise a range of benefits from starting the day by eating a proper breakfast.

Weight To Go diet food company presenter Helen O'Donnell suggested that people eat slow-release and high-fibre products such as muesli and porridge, as this will make them feel full until lunchtime and prevent them from "snacking on sugary treats".

She pointed out research has demonstrated men and women who eat at the beginning of the day are slimmer than those who do not.

Some professionals think this is because these individuals have a better chance of making "good dietary choices" throughout the rest of the day, the representative noted.

Although some members of the public might skip their morning meals because they wish to lose weight, it is easier for a person to control their size if they have breakfast, the UK's National Health Service stated.

People who wish to snack throughout the daytime could benefit from fruits such as bananas and apples, as well as raisins, carrot batons and nuts, Ms O'Donnell said.
