Expatriate Insurance News: Argentina 'now caters for knowledgeable travellers'
28/07/10 18:33
Argentina could be the ideal destination for those thinking of taking up an expatriate lifestyle, as it is no longer simply a backpacker or once-in-a-lifetime travel spot, the country's tourist board has stated.
Leonardo Boto, executive director of Instituto Nacional de Promocion Turistica (Inprotur), maintained that the nation now "satisfies the needs and interests of high-demanding and knowledgeable travellers".
They visit Argentina looking for stunning landscapes, culture, unique wildlife, and luxury infrastructure and service," he explained.
Mr Boto's comments follow figures released by the International Air Travel Association, which showed that Latin American airlines saw a 14.7 per cent increase in passenger volumes last month compared with June 2009.
Mr Boto advised visitors and prospective expats to be spectators at the two-week global sporting event Dakar Argentina-Chile, which takes place next January, to catch a glimpse of Argentine culture, its traditions, nature and people.
The Dakar attracts three million spectators and over two billion TV viewers, Mr Boto added.
