Expatriate Healthcare News: South-east Asia attracting expats

Parts of south-east Asia are becoming popular with expatriates from the UK, due to an abundance of sunshine and the relative ease of securing a long-term visa.
Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand have become the destinations which are most welcoming for this demographic, looking for a life overseas, reports the Telegraph.
Nearly 20,000 expats have set themselves up in Malaysia since a scheme known as 'My Second Home' was set up ten years ago.
It was designed to promote the country as a place to stay long-term and it has more recently been followed up by the Expatriate Service Division, which helps them to settle in more comfortably.
Tom Green, an expat living on the island of Penang, summed up the motivation for many people deciding to move to this part of the world.
He told the news provider: "There are a few pockets in Asia where the standard of English is good, health care is of a high quality and there’s no fear of the government being overthrown."
