Expatriate Healthcare News: Singapore 'best for bargain hunters'
01/07/10 19:21
Expatriates and other travellers looking to go abroad this summer could try visiting Singapore for its cuisine and good value for money, the country's tourism board has said.
Eunice Yeo, area director of Northern and Western Europe for the board, explained: "There are a range of hotels in Singapore to suit every budget and a number of activities that you can experience for free."
She noted that food is a major part of Singaporean life, with good quality produce being sold on stalls around the city.
Expatriates and holidaymakers after a bargain could also try their luck in the Great Singapore Sale, which takes place between the end of May and the end of July each year. The sale offers heavy discounts on a range of designer goods and appliances, Ms Yeo explained.
Her comments come after Singapore was ranked 11th in the Mercer 2010 Global Cost of Living survey.
