Expatriate Healthcare News: 'Respect customs when visiting Dubai'

Expatriates considering a move to Dubai should remember to be mindful of the local culture and religion, a travel company has advised.
Nikki Hain, product manager at Premier Holidays, explained: "Although Dubai is very westernised, you are still in a Muslim country and all traditions must be respected."
Her comments come after an expatriate and his friend were arrested and charged with kissing and touching in a restaurant in Jumeirah Beach Residence while under the influence of alcohol.
The expat was sentenced to one month in jail and lost his appeal earlier this year.
Last week, a British woman was questioned by police after stripping down to her bikini while walking through The Dubai Mall.
It is thought that an Emirati woman had criticised the tourist for wearing skimpy clothes.
The Foreign and Commonwealth website advises expat health insurance policyholders and other travellers to "respect local traditions, customers, laws and religions at all times and be aware of your actions to ensure that they do not offend other cultures or religious beliefs".
