Expatriate Healthcare News: Older expats 'attracted to Ireland'

Older expatriates who are considering moving abroad for a new life could be attracted to Ireland's "relaxed pace of life", the director of a holiday company has said.
Shaun Rodgers of Discover Ireland commented that the country is a great destination for older people.
"Donegal in particular appeals to older travellers with easy access to Ireland's largest national park, Glenveagh," he noted, adding that the easy walking trails and shuttle bus services offer an ideal way to enjoy the 22,000 hectares of unspoiled beauty along with the gothic-style castle and gardens.
Would-be expatriates considering relocation to Ireland should make use of a car to explore the nation's picturesque countryside, particularly to visit some of Europe's highest sea cliffs at Slieve League, Mr Rodgers added.
Some 1.08 million people visited Ireland from overseas in the first three months of 2010, according to data released by the country's Central Statistics Office. This number is down from 1.4 million in the same period of 2008 and from 1.52 million in the first quarter of 2008.
