Expatriate Healthcare News: Jamaica 'is great sunshine destination'
18/06/10 13:26
Expatriates and international visitors will continue to flock to Jamaica throughout 2010 and 2011, according to the country's tourist board.
The Caribbean destination saw an overall increase of 9.2 per cent in international travellers in the first quarter of the year, including a rise of nearly three per cent in British visitors.
A spokesman for the tourist board recommended prospective expatriates and holidaymakers attend Jamaica Style Week, from July 8th to 11th.
"Along with its infamous beaches the island offers a fantastic variety of adventure activities, unique cultural experiences and natural attractions, ensuring there really is something for everyone," he said.
His comments follow the latest data from the Post Office Travel Money Monitor, which showed that the sterling's slump against the dollar impacted on Caribbean currencies between January and May this year.
However, the spokesman said the country still offers great value for money, with beautiful beaches and the tropical climate ensuring that Jamaica continues to be an attractive sunshine getaway for many expatriates and visitors.
