Expatriate Healthcare News: Expats 'to be tested before moving to Kuwait'

Expatriate workers looking for employment opportunities in Kuwait will have to pass professional training tests in their home countries before relocating, after the government set out measures to control the labour market.
Prospective expats will also be required to take other tests in Kuwait before they can find work in the country, the Kuwait Times reported.
Those wishing to work in schools for students with special needs are already subjected to tests as the government wishes to attract highly-trained teaching staff, the Education Ministry's Mohammad Al-Kandari commented.
The move to provide expats with tests was suggested by the Kuwait Professions Organisation, which has been in consultation with the ministries of social affairs, interior and foreign affairs.
It comes after a report found that Kuwait's fellow Gulf Co-operation Council member Bahrain would see its population double by 2030 as expatriates lead a population boom.
Two-thirds of Bahrain's workforce is currently made up of expat employees, leading the kingdom to seek ways to encourage companies to employ national workers.
