Expatriate Healthcare News: Expatriate killed in Thai road accident

An expatriate living in Thailand has been the latest victim in a spate of traffic accidents on the country's roads, the Phuket Wan has reported.
Cyril Chausse, a 40-year-old French expatriate, was killed in the early hours of Thursday March 25th when his motorcycle collided with one driven by Napatphon Hongchumpair in Rawai. The second man also died in the accident.
The French embassy in Bangkok confirmed the expatriate's death but did not give any further information, the newspaper said.
Mr Chausse's death is the latest in a series of accidents involving motorcycles on Thailand's road. Three Thai women also died this week when a car hit them after veering into the wrong lane. The women were sharing one motorcycle and had not been wearing helmets, the Phuket Gazette reported.
A British expatriate was recently killed on Phuket's roads in February.
The Thailand Accident Research Centre (TARC) has pushed the benefits of wearing helmets when riding motorcycles and Thai law requires motorists and motorcycle passengers to wear a helmet when driving.
"Despite this law ... accident statistics reveal that the large [majority] still [ride without wearing helmets]," the TARC website explained.
