Expatriate Healthcare News: Bahrain population 'set to double by 2030'

Expatriates will help boost Bahrain's population to double its current size by 2030, according to a report by research firm Euromonitor.
The number of residents in the country will increase by 102 per cent over the next two decades, rising to a total of 2.6 million people.
It could have an impact on the provision of expatriate healthcare and education.
This population boom will be the result of an increase in immigration, particularly people from Asian countries, and an expanded expatriate workforce, the report stated.
It is thought that two-thirds of the kingdom's work force is currently made up of foreign workers, leading the country to seek ways in which to encourage companies to employ national workers.
The government has also championed its 'Bahrainisation' policy, which stresses the importance of education and training for the country's young adults to find work.
The report follows Labour minister Dr Majeed Al Alawi's move last month to brief industry figures in the country's graduate training programme, which aims to get 4,500 jobseekers employed by the private sector.
