People thinking of moving to Canada should be aware that the country offers more than bustling cities and snow-topped mountains, according to the Canadian Tourism Commission.
Nim Singh, media and public relations manager at the commission, said that although Canada is famous for its skiing and snowboarding, it is also a great year-round destination.
"Aside from the summer months, the autumn presents great opportunities to see the autumn colours and take short city breaks whilst the spring months offer late skiing or boarding, often into early May," she explained.
There is plenty of entertainment on hand for expatriates and short-term visitors alike, Ms Singh noted, such as the week-long Cisco Ottawa Bluesfest music festival, due to take place in July.
In addition, potential expats considering a move abroad could fall in love with the Canadian coastline, which boasts miles of beaches including the Dead Sea Manitou Beach, which is famous for its underground lake that is so rich in salt and minerals that swimmers can float on its surface.
Ms Singh's recommendations follow advice from the Canada Visa Bureau stating that people should submit their immigration applications in the next few weeks if they wish to move to Canada soon.
