Expat medical insurance news: Exploring great European Christmas getaways
27/11/09 12:30
Although many expats may still be relishing spending Christmas in a hot climate, those in search of a snowy winter wonderland might like to try Austria.
Caxton FX reports that the Graz Christmas market is one of the top winter attractions in a country packed with festive celebrations. Set against the backdrop of a Franciscan church, the Graz markets offer seasonal festivities, arts and crafts and mulled wine, as well as a traditional Christmas tree and merry-go-round.
Other winter wonderlands identified by the foreign exchange specialist included Ljubljana, Slovenia, Lille, France, Tallinn, Estonia and Riga, Latvia.
While those planning to spend Christmas overseas were advised to search for the best deals on foreign currencies, for Britons living abroad who are planning a seasonal holiday it may be worth checking that expat healthcare policies are in order to avoid any Christmas calamities.
Expats who still hold savings in sterling may also welcome the recent announcement from Caxton that the pound is set for a strong start to 2010.
