Expat medical insurance news: Crete 'offers bargains'

Individuals considering a move abroad could find that now is a good time to move to Crete, as property prices are yet to rebound from recent falls.
Charles Weston-Baker of property group Savills told the Daily Mail newspaper that prices have fallen by around 20 per cent in the past 18 months, but they now appear to have bottomed out.
And with a new international airport on the way, interest in the island could increase, he believes.
Property prices should not be the only consideration when moving abroad. Other factors such as quality of life and healthcare could also be considered.
While international medical insurance can help put one's mind at rest with regards to healthcare, the quality of services in a new destination may also be a factor.
One expat living in Crete, Linda Rogers, told the newspaper that the island's health system has its pros and cons.
"The health service is marvellous if there's something seriously wrong. But if you go to the surgery with a minor complaint, you could be there all day," she said.
While Crete is commonly known for its beaches, it also has a range of sites and activities to offer those willing to explore inland.
