More jobs for expatriate workers may soon be available in South Africa, as a new report suggests the global economy is beginning to recover.
Published by the South African Reserve bank, the latest Monetary Policy Review indicates the country's economy is showing "some indications of a return to positive growth".
The study has identified likely growth in the third quarter of this year, after three consecutive quarters of contraction.
"Consistent with global growth developments, domestic economic growth is expected to improve in the coming quarters," it adds.
However, it warns economic activity levels are likely to remain "well below" pre-crisis rates for some time and suggests "important policy challenges" still need to be faced before the Rainbow Nation can recover entirely.
Expatriate workers living in South Africa may be interested to hear English-language newspapers may be under threat.
According to reports, news in English, Afrikaans and Zulu are all suffering from low circulation figures.
