Canada offers expats the best quality of life in the world, a survey conducted by HSBC has shown.
According to the Expat Experience Report, expats who moved to Canada found it easy to make the transition and complete tasks such as finding schools for their children, setting up healthcare arrangements, finding a house and making friends.
The survey placed Australia in second position in the overall rankings, while Thailand came in third.
Commenting on the findings, Alan Smith, head of international wealth management at HSBC Bank International, reflected: "We have seen that there is a distinct trade-off between income and overall quality of life, as many of the top performers in our first report ... have scored towards the bottom of this report's league table."
The first study, entitled the Expats Economics Report, revealed that the UK is the third hardest place to save in the world after Spain and France.
