Expat Medical Insurance News: UK-based foreigners struggle to arrange child education, survey finds

Foreigners based in Britain face difficulties in getting quality education and childcare, according to new figures.
The Offshore Offspring report, commissioned by HSBC, found that arranging schooling in the UK was tougher compared to the other countries surveyed, including Australia, Hong Kong and the United Arab Emirates.
The majority of those asked (56 per cent) judged organising a child's education in the UK as difficult.
"The key centres around childcare and education... they were the things that were really highlighted. The UK has scored lower than some of the other countries in those respects," said Lisa Wood, head of marketing and communications at HSBC.
The report, which focused on children's integration, health and well-being in six countries - Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, the UAE, the US and the UK - found that foreign children were more likely to be inactive when living in Britain.
Just 16 per cent of parents said that the quality of their family life had improved since relocating to the UK, while 45 per cent noticed a decrease.
