Expat Medical Insurance News: Taiwan offers intro to Far East
19/02/10 13:00
Taiwan offers visitors an introduction to the attractions of the Far East, according to the national tourism board.
Commenting recently, Josephine Huang, marketing manager of the Taiwan Tourism Bureau, explained that the country can be seen as a microcosm of Asia as a whole as it boasts exceptional natural landscapes, a vibrant culture, excellent cuisine and a plenitude of activities for thrill-seekers.
"Taiwan's people are considered to be the most friendly - and amongst the most liberal - in Asia. Whether travellers are visiting the bustling capital of Taipei or exploring Taiwan's undiscovered south, they can expect to be greeted by kind people," Ms Huang added.
For those planning a more permanent move to Taiwan, taking out an expat medical insurance policy may be an important preparatory step, as access to healthcare may be limited.
Ms Huang's comments followed recent research carried out by the Pacific Asia Travel Association which showed that the number of people visiting the region grew three per cent year-on-year in November 2009, proving the enduring popularity of the Far East.
