There are plenty of opportunities to invest in Canadian real estate, but research will be key to finding a good deal, according to BuyAssociation.
Commenting recently, Paul Collins, editor of the property portal, said the country has enjoyed remarkable growth in 2009 despite wider ructions in the regional and global economy.
Canada's real estate market has benefited from a return to safety, Mr Collins said, explaining that expats and other buyers are looking for a reliable, stable return on their investment.
He added that Canada stood out from the crowd in 2009 because it offers great opportunities for lifestyle buyers.
"There is a huge culture of outdoor activities in Canada both in summer and in the winter and a lot of the properties that are available are geared to family life and to lifestyle pursuits," he claimed.
His comments followed recent figures from the Canadian Real Estate Association which showed property prices in the country were up 19 per cent year-over-year in December 2009.
