Expat Medical Insurance News: Israel plans to end brain drain

Israel's prime minister Binyamin Netanyahu is expected to throw his weight behind new proposals to end the country's brain drain.

Israel National News reports that there is mounting concern about the number of skilled Israelis choosing to move overseas in search of better career prospects.

To stop the outflow of talented workers, policymakers have drawn up a new Stars Plan that sets out a strategy for increased investment in research centres that will attract the brightest minds in the fields of science and engineering.

A total of 30 research centres are set to be established in a bid to encourage Israeli expats to return to their home country. The plan will be managed and funded jointly by the Council for Higher Education and the Planning and Budgeting Committee.

For non-nationals planning a move to Israel, Expat Blog advises researching international medical insurance cover well ahead of time to avoid being left short of cover in the event of illness or injury.
