Expat Medical Insurance News: Abu Dhabi 'an expat dream'

04/02/10 14:00

The recent pace of development in Abu Dhabi makes the emirate a hugely exciting place for those planning a move overseas, one recent visitor has claimed.

According to Emma Hartley, the associate editor of the Telegraph weekly world edition, a recent trip to the emirate to visit expat friends sparked a kind of excitement uncommon in most parts of the world.

She explained that when many Europeans see spectacular buildings and architectural accomplishments, they associate them with a bygone age, whereas in Abu Dhabi the development of these buildings is very much a part of the present.

"Abu Dhabi, and to a lesser extent right now Dubai, are experiencing the kind of developmental exuberance that Britain hasn't had for a while," she explained.

Both Abu Dhabi and Dubai have invested heavily in both public and private healthcare facilities in recent years, but for those planning a move to the emirates, it may be advisable to take out an expat medical insurance policy to ensure the cost of care is not an issue in the event of injury or illness.
