Expat Health Insurance News: Turkey 'has rich cultural heritage'
06/09/10 14:18
Expatriate health insurance policyholders visiting Turkey could find that the nation boasts as much ancient history as Italy, according to Cheapflights Media.
Travel expert Nadine Hallak pointed out that the country has a combination of diverse cultural attractions and beautiful natural landscapes, both of which will add to Turkey's growing popularity with expatriate medical insurance customers and other travellers.
"Home to the legendary biblical city of Troy, Turkey also boasts ancient Anatolian cities, fascinating remains of the Ottoman Empire in Istanbul and World War I battle sites along the sea of Marmara," Ms Hallak explained, adding that these sights will ensure the country attracts plenty of visitors.
An eight-month summer followed by excellent skiing opportunities also make Turkey an ideal year-round destination, she noted, while expatriates and tourists who enjoy the hustle and bustle of a big city might fall in love with the cosmopolitan capital, Istanbul.
Ms Hallak's comments come after Turkey was voted as the favourite holiday destination by the Conde Nast Traveller 12th Annual Readers' Travel Awards.
