Expat Health Insurance News: Eid attracts visitors to Oman

The Muslim festival of Eid has seen the number of expatriate health insurance policyholders and other travellers visiting Oman increase in the past few days, according to a report.
Oman Daily Observer pointed out that expatriate families living in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia have been flocking to the sultanate to explore its great outdoors and take a vacation over the festive period.
The article highlighted how tourists have been behind a recent uptake in hotel and apartment occupancy across the nation in order to experience some of Oman's attractions, such as spotting dolphins at Masirah Island or visiting other expatriate friends there.
"For most expatriate visitors, sightseeing and leisure is the predominant motivation for visiting Oman, while many have relatives, friends and other social reasons for visiting," a hotel executive told the newspaper, adding that many other expats have roots in Oman through working in the country in the past.
Eid is a three-day religious holiday celebrated by Muslims all over the world as the end of the holy month of Ramadan, which is traditionally marked by fasting.
