Europe is the 'best place' for expatriate kids

Countries in western Europe have been named as the best places to raise expatriate children, according to a new global study.
As part of its Expatriate Explorer survey, research by HSBC Bank International revealed that Spain, France and Germany are among the best locations for expatriate children to grow up in.
The investigation, entitled Offshore Offspring, found that England was the worst place for children to be raised in due to its unhealthy lifestyle and expensive cost of living.
Aaron le Cornu, deputy chief executive officer for HSBC Bank International, said: "The expat community is so diverse and there are many factors that come into play when deciding to relocate to another country.
"We have seen through this report that there are very different reasons behind a single expat's choice to move when compared to those who have families to think about."
The Association of International Property Professionals reported that 17 per cent of all foreign properties purchased by UK buyers in 2007 were in France.
