Dynamic China attracting expatriate expertise
31/07/09 16:39
China is proving attractive to expatriates who are finding the country's businesses value their international expertise.
Ronald Raffensperger, a marketing director at Huawei Technologies, told Reuters that Chinese high-tech companies are "just beginning to understand the need for marketing, brand-building and globalisation".
Mr Raffensperger said he spent 30 years in Silicon Valley in the US before taking his skills to the Chinese firm.
According to one investor, the Chinese economy could return double digit growth in the final quarter of this year.
Based on this recent economic growth, there could be opportunities for British expatriates to also secure work in the country.
Fund manager at Newton Investment Jason Pidcock told Investment Week: "The tough global economic conditions have given China an unexpected chance to take a shortcut in its race to catch up with the US and the rest of the world's leading economies."
