Cypriot property 'as safe as houses'
31/07/09 17:05
The Cypriot housing market is safe for British expatriates and one of the best in the world for investment, the island's government has said.
According to the interior minister Neoclis Sylikiotis coverage of recent events that are affecting buying property has been unnecessarily negative.
Mr Sylikiotis assured would-be buyers that purchasing property in Cyprus is "much safer than anywhere else", propertyshowrooms.com has reported.
When compared with the economies of neighbouring countries and considering the unfolding economic situation "the estate market in Cyprus is quite healthy and still in positive growth", he commented.
The Cypriot officials recently released a report, which illustrated how the country is the only state in the European Union that is enjoying growth.
British expatriates are often drawn to the island thanks to its diverse climate, which allows for skiing in the winter and sunbathing in the summer.
