Croatia a great place to become an expat

Investors looking for somewhere in Eastern Europe to purchase property should consider Croatia, which recently lifted rules on the ownership of houses.
As of February 1st 2009, foreigners could buy houses in the country in the same way as native Croats, freeing up a huge part of the market.
The Croatian National Tourist Board (CNTB) has suggested that now is a great time to invest there.
"The market is still stable and real estate agents are expecting the prices to fall approximately ten per cent in the coming period," Meri Matesic, director of the CNTB said.
"You can buy now, just come and buy; you don't have to register any company in Croatia or anything. You can simply come and say: 'I want to buy this house' and you can register it in your name."
The Croatian Bureau of Statistics has suggested that the average price of a new build apartment in the country was around 13,427 kuna (£1,492) per square metre.
